Alphabet chart
A clear A–Z chart with matching capital and lowercase letters for pointing, comparing and finding familiar names.
Explore T and t through looking, playful marks and a short shared game. Capital T has a long top bar and a stem underneath it. Lowercase t has a shorter crossing stroke, with its stem continuing above that stroke. Look at the position of the joining point in both forms. Choose one part of the pack rather than expecting every page to be completed in one sitting.
Recognise capital T and lowercase t, compare their shapes and find them among other printed letters.
Cover most of the letter hunt and offer just two choices. Keep the T / t model visible, and let an adult make the marks while your child points.
Try a little moreCompare T with I using the presence of a lower bar, and compare lowercase t with f by looking at the top curve in f. Typefaces vary, so make comparisons using the actual models on this sheet.
Tap, tent and tiger are example words. A tap provides an everyday British English example; an adult can also use a familiar word from the child’s own vocabulary. The goal is recognising the letter, not testing regional object names. These are original recognition resources, not a school phonics programme or a developmental test.
The matching forms are T and t. The hunt has six target cells; their numbers are listed on the adult activity page. The example words tap, tent, tiger begin with t. Accept pointing or a description when the child is still learning the letter name.
