Alphabet chart
A clear A–Z chart with matching capital and lowercase letters for pointing, comparing and finding familiar names.
Explore B and b through looking, playful marks and a short shared game. Capital B has a long straight side and two rounded sections. Lowercase b has one tall stem and one rounded body. Count the enclosed spaces in each form before trying to copy it; noticing the difference is more useful than rushing a row of letters. Choose one part of the pack rather than expecting every page to be completed in one sitting.
Recognise capital B and lowercase b, compare their shapes and find them among other printed letters.
Cover most of the letter hunt and offer just two choices. Keep the B / b model visible, and let an adult make the marks while your child points.
Try a little moreCompare lowercase b and d with the model upright. Their rounded parts sit on different sides. Offer just one pair at first, and model the answer calmly when they are confused.
Ball, book and bus give you familiar objects to talk about. Choose a book cover with a clear B or b and compare it with this page. Decorative lettering may be harder to recognise than the plain model. These are original recognition resources, not a school phonics programme or a developmental test.
The matching forms are B and b. The hunt has six target cells; their numbers are listed on the adult activity page. The example words ball, book, bus begin with b. Accept pointing or a description when the child is still learning the letter name.
